Analysis and efficiency of water recovery system from parboiled plant
The Riso Scotti Group has a centuries-old history in the Italian food industry: always attentive to the evolution of taste and nutrition. Today it counts on different product lines and projects recognized at an international level.
In the factory located in Pavia, daily 20 rice cooking vats are processed, in which 315 m3/ day of water is placed at a temperature of about 70°.

Identifying water coming out of the vats as a source of energy savings, Alens analyzed the collection system, trying to structure a more effective way to recover energy heat. Before Alens’ intervention, the water leaving the vats at a temperature of 65 º C, after a decantation with cooling in a special tank Imhoff, was conveyed to the municipal sewage system and then to the purifier ASM.
Following our intervention, the thermal energy contained in the hot water leaving the tanks is recovered to pre-heat the water coming from the aqueduct before placing it in the exchanger located downstream of the storage tank.
The primary energy saving is given by all the thermal energy recovered, net of the electrical energy absorbed by the heat recovery plant.
Many companies use the word “sustainable” in their marketing without it being supported by concrete actions and credible results. In this event we will share how it is really possible to achieve real goals and improve your visibility.
